Fitted wardrobes with Bower

We design and build bespoke fitted wardrobes and fitted bedroom furniture across Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas. Everything is made to order, allowing us to work around awkward spaces rather than relying on standard sizes. We offer a considered range of materials and finishes suited to both period properties and more contemporary interiors.

All of our work is built to last, with a 15-year guarantee, alongside a lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee on hinges and drawer runners.

  • Our wardrobes can be made in a range of styles, from more traditional options like slim, beaded and classic shaker doors, through to wood veneer, slab and premium birch ply fronts. Painted finishes can be supplied fully finished or prepared for your own decoration.

All wardrobes are fitted with soft-close hardware and handles of your choice, and can be configured with a range of internal options including drawers, mirrored door panels, hanging rails, LED lighting, adjustable shelving, and access panels for services.

  • Sliding door wardrobes are a good option where space is tight, particularly in smaller bedrooms or where door clearance is limited.

Our sliding systems can be used with solid doors, similar to a traditional wardrobe, or with mirrored or glass panels in aluminium frames for a more contemporary look.

  • The inside of a wardrobe is just as important as the outside. We design the internal layout around how you actually use the space - whether that’s more hanging, shelving, drawers or a mix of everything. There’s also scope for more specific requirements, from divided sections to spaces for things like shoe collections.

  • We offer a range of materials for wardrobe internals, depending on the look, budget and level of finish you’re looking for.

    MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard)
The most common and cost-effective option, widely used across the industry. Available in a range of colours, as well as oak and other wood-effect finishes. Durable and easy to maintain, with a consistent, hard-wearing finish.

    Painted MDF
Most commonly used for doors, but also suitable for shelving and internals where a colour match to the external finish is wanted. We use moisture-resistant MDF, which is denser and more durable than standard MDF.

We prepare and paint this in-house, though it can also be supplied ready for your own decorator if preferred.

    Real Wood Veneer
A more premium option, often used in higher-end furniture. It provides the look and feel of real wood, without the expansion and movement associated with solid timber.

    Birch Ply
A high-quality material with a distinctive layered edge detail. When finished well, it works beautifully for wardrobe internals and offers a premium, low-maintenance option

    Solid Wood
We also work with a range of solid timbers and have the machinery to produce solid wood elements across our projects, including doors, drawer fronts and shelving.

  • Integrated lighting can make a big difference to both the look and usability of fitted wardrobes. We use slimline neon flex LED lighting, which sits discreetly within the furniture but gives a soft, even light.

It can be set up with motion sensors, remote control, smart speaker control or standard switches, depending on how you want to use it. As a guide, lighting typically costs between £250–£500 depending on the size of the installation.

  • The hardware is a big part of how fitted furniture feels day to day, and how well it holds up over time. We use Blum soft-close hinges and drawer runners throughout — widely regarded as one of the best systems available, and backed by a lifetime manufacturer’s guarantee.

For handles and knobs, we can either work with your own choices or supply from a range of our trade suppliers, including Devol, Hendle & Hendle, Buster & Punch and Plank Hardware, with trade pricing passed on where possible.

  • Choosing the right finish is a key part of bespoke furniture. We offer a range of painted finishes for doors, with colours selected to suit your space.

We can colour match or work with brands such as Little Greene, Farrow & Ball, House of Hackney, Lick and Coat . Veneers can also be stained to introduce different tones or to match existing woodwork.

We’ll usually have a quick chat beforehand and bring relevant samples with us to view in person.

Pricing guides

  • What affects the price?

Everything we make is built to order, so pricing reflects the design and how it’s put together. The main things that influence cost are:

    Design & layout
Simpler designs are quicker to make and install. More detailed layouts or awkward spaces take a bit more time.

    Door style & finish
Flat doors are the most straightforward. Shaker styles or more detailed designs involve additional work.
Material choice also plays a role — from painted finishes to real wood veneers or specialist boards like Valchromat.

    Internal finish
Interiors can be done in durable decorative board (melamine) or upgraded to real wood veneer, depending on the look you’re after.

    Internal configuration
Shelves, drawers, and hanging space all add to the overall build — it just depends how you want it to function.

    Handles & openings
Standard handles keep things simple, while integrated pulls or handleless designs require a bit more work.

    Detailing
Extra features like trims or panelling can be added if you want something more refined.

    Access & installation
Most installs are straightforward, but tighter spaces or tricky access can take a little longer.

We’ll always talk through options with you and find the right balance between design, practicality, and budget.

  • A two door wardrobe with melamine internals and flat hand-painted painted doors starts at £1500 including fitting.

Real wood veneer internals and hand painted Shaker doors from £2200.

Highly recommended! We had a lovely fitted wardrobe made by the guys at Bower interiors. Really happy with the result, now I just need to finish the rest of the room to the same high standards!
